"The Sunset Ridge Trail is above Altadena and hikers are rewarded with a wonderful view from the mountain crest overlooking the San Gabriel Valley below. Hikers continuing along the trail enjoy many choices from a rushing creek in the canyon and a waterfall during the spring season to a beautiful variety of California chaparral. I’ve painted there a few times and there are always hardy hikers moving along the trails even when the light seems to be fading too fast for them to see the trail."
