FEMINIST MUSEUM TOURS

I conducted my first Feminist Museum Tour of The Norton Simon Museum in 2009 for the WCA (Women's Caucus for Art) National Confab as a break out event for 15 women.  Since that time, I have received numerous grants, and also been retained my several well known art groups and professional societies to conduct them.  The museums are all based in California, including The de Young Museum in San Francisco, The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, and
The Norton  Simon Museum in Pasadena, CA.

If you are interested in a tour, please contact me at [email protected] or via phone at 626-354-0359 to schedule.

Feminist Tour of the Norton Simon Museum
Celebrating Women’s History month and Support Women Artists Now Day

Margaret Danielak, Owner of Pasadena-based Danielak Fine Art and author of A Gallery without Walls, will conduct an independent Feminist Tour of The Norton Simon Museum on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The tour will highlight the work of the woman artists in the permanent collection including Elisabeth Vigee-LeBrun, Berthe Morisot and Barbara Hepworth. Danielak, who is the daughter of artists, will draw upon her experience as an artist representative and curator to introduce important works by women artists to tour participants and discuss their relevance in today’s art world.

Danielak has received grants from WomenArts to conduct Feminist Tours of The de Young Museum in San Francisco and at The Huntington-Virginia Steele Scott Galleries of American Art in San Marino. A workshop leader and art marketing expert, Danielak holds a B.A. in History from the University of California at Berkeley and was a Producer Fellow at American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Her handbook, A Gallery without Walls, was a featured selection of North Light Book Club.

The Feminist Tour of the Norton Simon Museum is underwritten by WomenArts (www.womenarts.org) in celebration of Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day, an annual international holiday celebrated during March, Women’s History Month. The event is free with museum admission. The Norton Simon Museum is located at 411 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA  91105. A reservation is required to attend the tour. To reserve, contact Margaret Danielak at [email protected].
