Cayucos
Oil 11 x 14"
by Marian Fortunati
"Many years ago I took a road trip with an artist friend, Kaye Zetlmaier. We were traveling along the coast to a California Art Club paint out at a mission in central California. Although our destination was the mission and that is where we did most of our painting, it was the road trip and the plein air paintings I did on the way there that have had a lasting impression on me. The plein air piece I did there has sold, but I loved it so much I have done several other versions of different sizes and aspects as well as a few scenes from photos of different nearby areas and birds we saw.
This painting was created as a demonstration at the Santa Paula Art Museum. It too, is a slightly different view (more inland) of the original plein air piece. It was fun chatting with visitors and meeting new people while I painted."
