Lunchtime Sun on Cassis
11 x 14" Oil on Board
by Julie Snyder
Cassis Harbour. Between noon and 2 pm cafés are full and the boats are docked. Work ceases, the mid-day meal is served. Whereas clocks regulate productivity in other nations, culinary matters rule life in Provence. Moules and Frites (mussels served in a steaming pot of broth with large french fried potatoes)
are an excellent choice for resting fishermen, hungry travelers and starving artists alike.
